COVID-19 cases confirmed at three PWPSD schools

Grande Prairie, AB – Beginning today, Wednesday, March 31, Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) will release a daily summary report of COVID-19 cases in schools. The report will be released on days when there are new cases reported in schools. The established practice of communicating individual cases to families via letters from the affected schools remains unchanged, and the letters will continue to be sent to families as soon as possible following notification of a positive case.

Out of respect for the individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19, and in accordance with AHS guidelines, no further information will be shared about the cases. PWPSD and the affected schools wish the individuals a safe and speedy recovery, and will continue to work closely with AHS to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students and staff. Remote learning opportunities will be provided to isolating students. The affected schools have been disinfected. AHS is expected to provide all close contacts with further direction on testing and isolation instructions.
