Today is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day!
School bus drivers who arrived at PWPSD schools this morning received a School Bus Driver Appreciation Day gift, presented by Principals on behalf of PWPSD as a small token of appreciation.
The first Monday in May is set aside annually as School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. PWPSD students, parents, staff and the Board recognize the important function that school bus drivers serve in safely transporting children to and from school.
PWPSD manages one of the largest transportation systems in the province of Alberta. Each day, approximately 100 school bus drivers travel more than 14,225 kilometres in a total service area of 16,159 square kilometres, transporting more than 4,000 students.
